Elvington's near neighbour, Barfreston, Tilmanstone, Coldred, Shepherdswell and Lower Eythorne however the primary role for
this website is to inform Elvington's community and keep everyone in touch regarding whats going on in this former coal mining
village.
LOCATION
ELVINGTON is located some 6 miles North-East of Dover, located both off
the A256 and A2 main roads between Dover - Sandwich, and Dover - Canterbury respectively. The village was built in the early
20th Century as a home for coal miners and their families working at the nearby Tilmanstone Colliery.
Located in an area of beautiful countryside and with a rich history, Elvington
is in an ideal place for future regeneration of which is already happening. This website wants to be a part of that by keeping
locals, former residents and visitors informed about this East Kent village.
